ABOUT US

We are committed to providing a non-judgemental, confidential advisory service that will assist and guide individuals through the entire process of adjusting to prison life and beyond.

We can guide and advise during progression  through the system and offer suggestions and coping mechanisms for both offenders and their loved ones.

Whilst negotiating the huge change to life that prison affords,  we can be the safety net you need to come through.

D.C. Prison Consultants can share the burden that comes with arrest and the uncertainty that follows, whether the outcome is likely to be a prison sentence or not.

We will clarify the process, what is happening and why and based on each individual case, will formulate a package to best help throughout the proceedings.

We can offer our services at any point - from newly arrested to already being incarcerated for some time.

The whole process can be hard on the young and the old.  We understand this and can assist vulnerable people of all ages.

We understand the challenges facing those who are leading up to Parole hearings and can give advice on how to proceed to achieve a beneficial outcome.

DC Prison Consultancy has knowledge, obtained 'both sides of the fence' as well as personal experience from over a decade of incarceration at various establishments.

With first hand knowledge of the judicial system and qualifications obtained in Prison Law, we can provide you with explanations of procedures you may not understand along with clarification of terms you may not have heard prior to arrest.  We can also put you in touch with recommended legal representation.

Having worked within HMP both as counsellors and Samaritan-trained listeners we are well equipped to provide personal, confidential advice.  using this experience we have designed courses to be run within HMP including one specifically for tariff offenders in preparation for releases and parole boards. This focused on employment and resettlement needs and provided a means of rehabilitation and preparation for release.

We also have first hand counselling experience with the more vulnerable individuals including those with severe depression, self-harming issues, suicidal tendencies and drug related problems.  Anyone who fits into this category would benefit from contacting us.

'SAFETY NET' - a safeguard against possible hardship or adversity.
